Paarl Mountain Reserve is NOT a race track, no speeding, 30km/h, respect nature, DONT
spoil it for everyone please.
Route Description: Grade: WHITE(Easy, beginners and newcommers with Pillions Riders, all size bikes)

Driving Directions:
The easy going 4 hour route is for first timers and newcomers to the sport of Adventure motorcycling. 70% is on dirt roads and there are no challenging sections.
You can start the route from Cape Town via the N7 and off the Vissershoek Road, and on district dirt roads towards Kliphuewel.
District roads are flat, smooth and maybe a little drifty in the corners if recently graded, ride with caution if inexperienced.

After dissecting the farm lands you will join the R44 (Adam Tas Road) again and onto the Wellington road towards Paarl. Windmeul Road takes you onto the R45 (Noord Agter Paarl Road). Just before Paarl main road look for the sign - "Paarl Mountain Reserve" - head up the short tar trail through the windlands and onto the (Jan Phillips Mountain Drive) dirt road along the mountainside.

Jan Phillips Mountain Drive is fantastically scenic and traverses along the entire mountain side. If the road has been recently graded, it can be quit loose in the corners, watch out for cars in the tight bends. Mid way along the mountain, turn right and ride the the Paarl Mountain Reserve gate - ZAR 27.00 will get you in to the reserve, PLEASE ride slowly and enjoy the scenic ride around "Nantes and Bethel Dam", if you blast around the reserve, guaranteed they will close it for us. Don't be the one!!

After crusing around the reserve, you can pop up the the view point, and take a break and enjoy the view. Exit the reserve and turn right along Jan Phillips Mountain Drive again, till the dirt track ends - turn right up towards the Taal Monument if you want to have breakfast.

Accessable from the N7 towards Melkbos via Vissershoek to Agter Paarl, Paarl Rock Jan Phillips Mountain Drive, N1 Route home.
4 Hours round trip, 135km - 70% dirt 30% Tar Roads, easy going, nice along Jan Phillips Mountain Drive Dirt Road, and awesome trail in Paarl Mountain Reserve 17.4km route.
Suitable for All level of Riders, Pillions, and All Size Dual Sport Bikes
